Special Creatures

The world is full of special creatures that have unique characteristics, exceptional loots and differentiated combat mechanics. These entities represent greater challenges and opportunities for rare rewards.

👹 Types of Special Creatures

Bosses

Bosses are elite creatures with:

  • Massive life: Hundreds of thousands of life points
  • Powerful attacks: Devastating damage and complex mechanics
  • Exclusive loot: Items that can only be obtained from them
  • Experience rewards: Massive EXP when defeated
  • Bestiary marking: Special record when defeated

Ascending Creatures

As mentioned in the Ascension System, these creatures represent the evolutionary apex of powerful entities, with capabilities beyond normal.

Quest Creatures

Many special creatures are linked to epic quests, such as:

  • Ascending Ferumbras: Part of the ascension quest
  • The Primal Menace: Primordial quest boss
  • The Monster: Unique entity with special characteristics

💀 Skulls System (Shield System)

One of the most unique and exciting aspects of special creatures is the Skulls System, also known as Shield System. This system creates rare and powerful elite monsters through an on-death portal spawn mechanic, turning regular monster kills into unexpected and highly rewarding encounters.

How It Works — Elite Portal Spawn

Special creatures do not spawn naturally. Instead, when you kill a normal monster, there is a random chance for it to trigger an Elite Portal. Here's the process:

  1. You kill a regular monster.
  2. The system rolls a chance to see if an elite portal opens.
  3. If successful, a warning message appears: "A [Rank] portal is opening! Prepare yourself!"
  4. After a 4-second delay with visual effects, an elite version of the same monster spawns at the death location.
  5. You have 10 minutes to defeat the elite monster before it despawns.

The elite monster receives boosted HP, damage, speed, loot, EXP, and a unique visual shader based on its rank.

Spawn Chances

Each monster kill rolls against a base of 100,000. The chances for each rank are:

Rank Chance per Kill Approximate Rate Bonus
Savage 0.1% 1 in 1,000 kills +15% damage, life, loot and EXP; +10% speed
Cursed 0.02% 1 in 5,000 kills +30% damage, life, loot and EXP; +20% speed
Titan 0.01% 1 in 10,000 kills +50% damage, life, loot and EXP; +30% speed
Mythic 0.005% 1 in 20,000 kills +100% damage, life, loot and EXP (double); +40% speed

Drops & Rewards

When an elite dies, rewards depend on rank, monster level, and whether you dealt damage:

  • Essence of Creation: One per player who dealt damage — goes to inventory (or ground if full).
  • Fixed-rarity equipment (orange bag): Always on the corpse — one upgradable loot piece gets a fixed rarity by elite rank (table below) inside an orange bag. Minimum item level by rank: Savage 40+, Cursed 80+, Titan 120+, Mythic 200+.
  • Upgrade stones: On the corpse, by monster level:
    • Basic Upgrade Stone — level 1–499
    • Medium Upgrade Stone — level 500–899
    • Advanced Upgrade Stone — level 900+
Basic/Medium: 100% chance for every rank. Advanced: Savage 50%, Cursed 60%, Titan 80%, Mythic 100%. Higher ranks drop more stones (Mythic up to 3–5 on Basic/Medium). Details: Item Upgrade System.
  • Primordial Essence: 0.5% on the corpse when monster level is 300+.
  • Dungeon craft extras: Only if the elite is a dungeon spawn (official dungeon monsters). Extra on corpse: primordial essence, rare scrap, god heart fragments, VIP hunting tokens, random tier stone, stone revealer — scaled by rank and level.
  • Experience: EXP uses the rank bonus from the spawn table.

Orb fragments (66400–66436) are not elite drops. Use the Defrag/Salvage System for scrap and shards.

Important Notes

  • Elite portals can only be triggered by killing normal monsters (bosses, gods, trainers, and special creatures are excluded)
  • The system works in all game areas
  • The chance is calculated on each kill, making every monster a potential portal trigger
  • Elite creatures have a visual shader and rank title near their name
  • All players who deal damage receive rewards (damage-based distribution)
  • Rare items drop inside a special orange bag on the corpse
  • Elite creatures have 10 minutes to be defeated — after that, they despawn automatically
  • Elite creatures have increased life and damage based on their rank, making them significantly more challenging

🛡️ Resistances and Immunities

Special creatures often have:

  • Immunity to conditions: Paralysis, invisibility, etc.
  • Elemental resistances: Reduction or immunity to damage types
  • Increased physical resistance: Superior defense
