Item Upgrade System
Item Upgrade System
The Item Upgrade module improves upgradable equipment with upgrade stones, rarity gems and gold. Items reach upgrade level +12, gain rarity tiers (unlocking divine gem slots) and item level. Failures downgrade the item (except +0→+1). Items are never destroyed.
Upgrade Stones & Rarity Gems
Each attempt consumes 1 stone or gem plus gold. Optional Divine Blessing (55013) can be used on upgrade attempts for protection.
Gold costs: upgrade = current upgrade level × 200,000; rarity = 250,000 per attempt.

Orb fragments (66400–66436) are not used in this module. They are recovered via the Defrag/Salvage System and other sources.

| Target | Success | Gem |
|---|---|---|
| Common → Rare | 90% | Sacred (62478) |
| Rare → Epic | 50% | Cursed (62481) |

Bonus per Level
On drop, Item Level is set from the monster level: floor(Monster Level × 300 ÷ 2000), clamped between 1 and 300 (e.g. level 1000 → 150, level 2000 → 300).
Each successful upgrade also increases Item Level by +10 (+20 on two-handed weapons), up to 300.
Stat bonuses per upgrade level (applied only if the base item has that stat):
- Attack +1 — melee, distance and staff weapons
- Hit Chance +1 — distance weapons; armor pieces with hit chance
- Defense +1 — shields and armor
- Extra Defense +1 — shields and armor
- Armor +1 — helmets, armors, legs, boots and similar (not weapons)
Enchantments & Divine Gems
Random enchantments via the upgrade module are currently disabled. Progression on slots comes from rarity (gem sockets) and divine gem attach — free, no gold cost.
Orb fragments from defrag remain useful for devotion sacrifices (see Devotion System — stones/gems) and player trading.
Protection and Strategy
Use Divine Blessing on risky upgrade attempts if you want extra protection. Raise rarity first to unlock gem slots, then attach divine gems before pushing high upgrade levels.
Plan gold: high-level upgrades cost current level × 200,000 gold per attempt (+11 costs 2,200,000 gold alone).
